About image conversion

Just drop your HEIC files into the upload zone and pick JPG (or whatever format you need). Your iPhone defaults to HEIC for newer photos, which isn't universally supported on Windows or older Android devices. Converting to JPG fixes this without losing visible quality. Files never leave your browser, so even private photos stay private.
JPG for photos you'll share widely (universally supported, small files). PNG for graphics with transparency or sharp edges. WebP for websites — 25-35% smaller than JPG at the same quality and supported everywhere modern. AVIF if you want the absolute smallest file size and your audience uses modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari 16+).
Converting between lossless formats (PNG, BMP, WebP-lossless) preserves every pixel. Converting to lossy formats (JPG, WebP, AVIF) uses the quality slider — at 90+ it's visually identical to the original. Converting a lossy JPG to another lossy format does compound some quality loss, so for archival work, keep your originals.
HEIC encoding requires patented codecs that browsers don't include for licensing reasons. We can decode HEIC (read your iPhone photos) but converting other formats to HEIC isn't possible in any browser-based tool today. If you need HEIC output, you'll need a desktop app like macOS Preview or specialized software.
