About social media image sizes

The big shift is vertical-first: portrait 4:5 (1080×1350) and 9:16 (1080×1920) now fill more mobile screen and out-perform squares. Instagram feed favours 1080×1350, Stories/Reels use 1080×1920, YouTube thumbnails are 1280×720, LinkedIn personal banners are 1584×396, and X in-feed images look best at 1600×900. Every preset here is set to the current spec.
Crop to fill scales your image so it covers the entire frame and trims whatever overflows — best for photos where edge detail doesn't matter. Fit & pad shrinks the whole image inside the frame and fills the leftover space with a color you pick (or transparency), so nothing gets cut off — best for logos, product shots, and graphics with text.
Scaling down is lossless-looking — always start from the largest, sharpest source you have. Scaling up past the original resolution will soften detail, so for banners and thumbnails begin with a high-resolution file. The output badge shows the exact pixel dimensions you'll get before you download.
Verify it yourself: open your browser's DevTools (F12), go to the Network tab, then resize an image. You'll see zero outgoing requests with image data. All processing uses your browser's built-in canvas APIs. The live monitor in the bottom right shows network activity in real time.
Resizing to any single preset is genuinely free, forever, with no signup or watermark. Pro ($19 one-time, no subscription) adds one-click "export every size as a ZIP", batch processing across many source images, and priority support.
